A bit of history

The Warm Winter on the She River is one of the ten important aspects of Huangpi District, recognized since the Qing dynasty. A legend tells of Huanglong (one of the Eight Immortals) and his wife He Xiangu, who lived on a boat and helped villagers during a flood. After they drowned, villagers built the Xianyou Tai and Xian You cave on the riverbank in their honor. Every winter solstice, the Eight Immortals gather there for a wine libation sacrifice.
