The Rose Valley, nestled between the Balkan and Sredna Gora mountains, is Bulgaria's premier rose-growing region. Visitors can stroll through endless fields of Damask roses in late May and June, when the valley is in full bloom. The annual Rose Festival in Kazanlak features parades, folk performances, and rose-picking ceremonies. Distilleries offer tours showing traditional rose oil production, which yields the precious attar used in perfumery. The experience is both sensory and cultural.
