Itamaraty Palace, also called the Palace of the Arches, is the headquarters of Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, its most striking feature is the series of concrete arches that create a sense of lightness. Inside, the building boasts a grand hall with a sweeping staircase and a collection of modern Brazilian art. The surrounding gardens, designed by Roberto Burle Marx, feature tropical plants, ponds, and sculptures. Guided tours offer insight into Brazil's diplomatic history and architecture.
