Standing on the site of the historic Groeningeveld battlefield, the Groeninge Monument is a solemn stone pillar erected to honor the Flemish victory at the Battle of the Golden Spurs in 1302. The monument is set within a small park-like area, with a paved plaza and benches where visitors can reflect. The pillar itself is carved with inscriptions and a gilded spur motif, referencing the battle's name. Interpretive panels nearby explain the battle's significance.
