Katekhi Church, also known as the Church of St. George, is a medieval Georgian Orthodox church located on a hillside near the village of Katex, about 10 km from Zaqatala. The church dates from the 12th-13th centuries and features a cruciform plan with a central dome. Inside, fragments of original frescoes remain, depicting saints and biblical scenes. The church is surrounded by a cemetery with ancient tombstones. The peaceful setting offers views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. It is an active place of worship, especially on feast days.
