The Ursuline Church of St. Michael is a jewel of Baroque architecture in Linz’s old town. Built for the Ursuline convent, the church features a richly decorated interior with ceiling frescoes by Martino Altomonte and a magnificent high altar. The interplay of light and color creates an atmosphere of serene grandeur. Though smaller than the city’s main cathedral, it offers an intimate glimpse into 18th-century religious art. Located on the Landstraße, it’s easily incorporated into a walking tour of Linz. The adjoining former convent now houses a school, but the church remains open for visitors and worship.
