The Museum of High Altitude Archaeology (MAAM) in Salta showcases the famous Llullaillaco mummies, three Inca children sacrificed over 500 years ago and found frozen on the Llullaillaco volcano. The museum uses rotating exhibits to preserve the mummies, which are displayed in special chambers. Visitors also see gold and silver figurines, textiles, and pottery recovered from the summit, offering a haunting glimpse into Inca ritual and the extreme conditions of the high Andes.
