The Church of St. Michael is a small but historic Byzantine church dating from the 14th century, located on a steep hill just outside Berat Castle. Visitors climb a winding path to reach the church, where they are rewarded with sweeping views over the Osum River valley and the city's distinctive white Ottoman houses. Inside, the church features well-preserved frescoes and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a serene spot for reflection and photography. Its isolated setting and age give it a timeless, almost mystical quality distinct from Berat's larger religious sites.
