The Flag Tower of Hanoi (Cột Cờ Hà Nội) is a 33-meter-tall structure built in 1812 during the Nguyễn Dynasty. Originally used as a military observation post, it is one of the few landmarks in the city that survived French colonial destruction. The tower consists of three tiers and a flagpole, with the Vietnamese flag flying daily. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase to the top for views over the surrounding area, including the nearby Vietnam Military History Museum. Its sturdy brick construction and strategic design make it a distinctive historical monument.
