Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, established in 1865, is one of the oldest continuously operating zoos in the world. Spread over 20 hectares in District 1, it combines a zoological park with a botanical garden featuring centuries-old trees and a variety of plant species. The zoo is home to over 1,000 animals, including rare species like the Indochinese tiger and Asian elephants. Visitors can stroll through shaded pathways, visit the reptile house, and see the historic Temple of the King of the Nguyen Dynasty within the grounds.
