The Bạch Đằng battlefield site, located along the Bạch Đằng River in Hai Phong, commemorates the decisive victory of General Trần Hưng Đạo over the Mongol fleet in 1288. Visitors can explore a memorial park featuring a statue of the general, a small museum with artifacts and dioramas, and a viewing platform overlooking the river where the battle took place. The site uses wooden stakes (replicas) to illustrate the tactic of planting them in the riverbed to impale enemy ships. It's a significant historical spot for understanding Vietnam's resistance against foreign invasion.
