Con Market (Cho Con) is a sensory overload in the best way. Housed in a sprawling two-story building, it buzzes with vendors selling everything from tropical fruits and fresh seafood to textiles and electronics. The ground floor is a maze of food stalls where you can watch noodles being hand-pulled, spring rolls sizzling in oil, and bowls of steaming pho being assembled. The market is especially known for its banh trang (rice paper) and banh xeo (crispy pancakes), which locals swear by. Upstairs, you'll find clothing, souvenirs, and household goods at bargain prices. The atmosphere is authentically local, haggling is expected, and the chatter of vendors and customers fills the air. Despite its size, the market is well-organized, with signs indicating sections. It's a fantastic place to sample regional specialties like mi Quang (turmeric noodles) or che (sweet dessert soup) for just a dollar or two.

Don't miss

  • Try the famous banh xeo (crispy pancakes) at stall 54
  • Sample fresh tropical fruits like dragon fruit and mangosteen
  • Watch artisans make rice paper by hand
  • Browse the fabric section for affordable textiles
  • Sip on a glass of sugarcane juice with kumquat
