Dining at Jōnt was an overall excellent experience. The food was outstanding, with the risotto being the highlight of the night. We chose to add fresh truffles, which complemented the dish beautifully and elevated it even further. The cocktails were also exceptional, and I appreciated the unique touch of choosing our own chopsticks for one of the courses. That said, I’m not really into desserts, and having four dessert courses was kinda overkill for me. The ambiance was okay, but sitting near the robata grill made it feel like a mini sauna—def not ideal for a long dinner. The service? Top-tier. They paced everything perfectly, which I appreciated since I’m a slow eater. The featured Californian quail was cool to try, but TBH, I’m more of a red meat kinda person. All in all, it’s definitely an experience—worth checking out if you’re into elevated dining with creative touches.
Excellent service, thoughtful, inventive food. Beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed the venison dish and the A5 Wagyu. Their 2 Michelin Stars are well deserved.
Very creative Asian fusion. The open fire only adds to the complexities of the dishes. Top quality ingredients kept simple in dishes to showcase their flavors. They give you spoons so you don't miss a drop. Wine pairings were robust but not overpowering. Must have the truffle ice cream
I went here last year and was blown away by the quality of the food and the service, albeit you paid handsomely for the privilege. Fast forward twelve months and my oh my how things have changed. The service and attention to detail is still spectacular, but the food was just nowhere near good enough. The menu is heavily by Japanese ingredients, which I love, but the Chef has just wiffed on the menu. The food is dull and too many dishes are just overly complicated with too many ingredients and they all blend in to an instantly forgettable experience. Don't get me wrong there are several great dishes, but given the size of the menu certainly not as many as what you expect from a 2 star Michelin. At this rate they will drop to at least a 1 star if not lose both stars. To make matters worse, I was as sick as a dog a few hours after leaving the restaurant, we certainly will not be rushing back.
