Smith Tower, completed in 1914, was once the tallest building west of the Mississippi. Its observation deck on the 35th floor offers sweeping views of the city, Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains. The tower's interior retains its original charm, with brass fixtures and an ornate Chinese Room featuring a carved ceiling. Visitors can take a classic Otis elevator to the top and enjoy a drink at the speakeasy-style bar while soaking in the historic ambiance.

Don't miss

  • The 360-degree observation deck with views of the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and the Sound
  • The Chinese Room, decorated with a hand-carved wooden ceiling and artifacts
  • The vintage Otis elevator ride, operated by an attendant
