Baker Beach is a mile-long sandy stretch on the San Francisco Peninsula, famous for its unparalleled views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Unlike many city beaches, it offers ample space for sunbathing, beachcombing, and picnicking against a backdrop of rugged cliffs and crashing waves. The beach's northern end provides a classic photo vantage point of the bridge, while the southern part is often less crowded. Though the water is cold and currents strong, the beach's beauty and proximity to the Presidio make it a favorite local escape.
Don't miss
- Photograph the Golden Gate Bridge from the northern end of the beach.
- Hike the nearby Batteries to Bluffs Trail for elevated coastal views.
- Enjoy a picnic with the bridge as your backdrop on a sunny day.
