Bergamot Station is a unique cultural hub located at 2525 Michigan Avenue in Santa Monica's Pico district. Originally a trolley station, the site now encompasses a collection of art galleries, antique shops, design studios, and a weekly farmers market. The complex consists of several low-rise buildings arranged around courtyards, creating a village-like atmosphere. Visitors can browse contemporary art at galleries like Track 16 and Robert Berman Gallery, or hunt for vintage furniture and collectibles at the many antique dealers. The on-site café provides a spot to relax, and the farmers market (Saturdays) offers fresh produce and prepared foods. What makes Bergamot Station distinctive is its blend of high art and everyday treasures, all within a historic setting. The architecture retains industrial elements, with exposed beams and brick, adding to the creative vibe. It's a favorite spot for art lovers, collectors, and those seeking unique gifts. The complex is walkable and bike-friendly, with ample parking available.

A bit of history
Bergamot Station opened in 1994 on the site of a former trolley station that served the Pacific Electric Railway. The name 'Bergamot' comes from the street it's on, named after the bergamot orange. The adaptive reuse of the transit facility into an arts complex helped revitalize the Pico neighborhood.
