Old Sacramento State Historic Park preserves a 28-block district of the city as it appeared during the Gold Rush era. Visitors can walk on wooden sidewalks past brick-and-iron buildings housing candy stores, saloons, and museums. The cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages evoke the 1850s, while the Sacramento River levee offers scenic views. Highlights include the B.F.
