Long Point is a narrow, windswept spit of sand extending into Cape Cod Bay, accessible only by private boat, the seasonal Long Point Ferry, or a strenuous 3-mile walk from Provincetown's west end. Once here, visitors find pristine beaches, rolling dunes, and the historic Wood End Lighthouse. It's a peaceful escape from the bustle of town, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and birdwatching. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the harbor and the tip of the Cape.

Don't miss

  • Take the Long Point Ferry from MacMillan Pier for a scenic 20-minute ride across the harbor.
  • Explore the remote beaches and dunes, often less crowded than Provincetown's main beaches.
  • Visit the Wood End Lighthouse, a historic beacon dating to 1872.
