The dishes are amazing and pricey. The blue crab on toast was great. The sea bass was outstanding. The sea urchin with the cooked eggs wasn’t what I had hoped for. The gelato was not as good as the version over at the sister restaurant Vernick Fish. Definitely get a dining room table upstairs.
delightful meal that is intimate and high value. variety of textures and flavor profiles we started off with the uni and scrambled eggs — very indulgent although texturally monotonous. but the flavor profiles grew on me the harissa cauliflower was another highlight. the blue crab toast left something to be desired. it needed some acidity or a textural crunch. the whole roasted chicken was such a hefty portion. the vegetables were delicious and it was well seasoned, just not the most glamorous to eat.
I had superb food throughout my week in Philly but this restaurant topped the lot. Food was absolutely fantastic - every dish a flavour sensation. Service was also faultless, & the greeting warm. It’s an upscale affair, set within a beautiful character building in the posh part of town, but the vibe is low key & unpretentious. Loved every minute!!
I had not been back for many years, and my first visit was not a great experience. Decided to try again because so well rated and it was close to where we were seeing a show. The meal was fantastic. Certainly understand now where the great reviews come from. Will look forward to coming back soon.
