The Tower of Babel is a prominent sandstone pinnacle rising sharply from the desert floor in the Courthouse Towers section of Arches National Park. Its sheer height and isolated stance make it an unmistakable landmark, especially when backlit at sunrise or sunset. While there is no designated trail to the base, visitors can admire it from the roadside or from the Park Avenue Trail, which offers a closer perspective. The tower's name evokes the biblical story, adding a layer of cultural intrigue to its natural grandeur.

Don't miss

  • View the tower from the Park Avenue Trail for a dramatic foreground.
  • Photograph the spire at sunrise when it glows orange against blue sky.
  • Look for the distinct caprock that protects the softer sandstone below.
