Sheep Rock is a prominent rock formation along the Park Avenue trail in Arches National Park. Its silhouette, when viewed from the right perspective, clearly evokes the shape of a sheep, complete with a head and body. Visitors can see it from the main road or hike the easy Park Avenue Trail for closer views. The formation is made of Entrada Sandstone, sculpted by erosion over millions of years. It stands out against the desert sky and is a favorite subject for photographers, especially in the soft light of sunrise or sunset.
Don't miss
- Spot the sheep profile from the Park Avenue viewpoint or trail.
