Emerson Point Preserve encompasses 365 acres of coastal habitats, including mangrove forests, salt marshes, and hardwood hammocks. The preserve's centerpiece is the Portavant Mound, a prehistoric Native American temple mound built by the Safety Harbor culture over 1,000 years ago. Visitors can hike or bike along miles of trails that wind through diverse ecosystems, with boardwalks offering views of the Manatee River and Tampa Bay. The preserve also features a fishing pier, kayak launch, and observation tower, making it a prime spot for birdwatching, nature photography, and quiet exploration.
