Wo Hing Society Hall, built in 1912, served as a social and cultural center for Chinese immigrants working on Maui's sugar plantations. Today, it operates as a museum dedicated to preserving Chinese heritage in Hawaii. Visitors can explore exhibits of traditional clothing, tools, and photographs, as well as a replica of a Chinese cookhouse. The museum also screens films by Thomas Edison, who captured early 20th-century Hawaiian life. The building itself is a historic landmark with distinctive Chinese architecture.

Don't miss

  • View the collection of artifacts from Chinese plantation workers, including mahjong sets and herbal medicine jars.
  • Watch rare Edison films of Hawaii from the 1900s, shown in the original cookhouse.
  • Admire the building's ornate facade and traditional Chinese architectural details.
