Pillar Point Harbor is a lively working harbor on the San Mateo County coast, just south of Half Moon Bay. It serves as a base for commercial fishing vessels, sportfishing charters, and recreational boaters. Visitors can stroll the docks, watch fishermen unload their catch, or book a charter for deep-sea fishing, whale watching, or a sunset cruise. The harbor is also home to several seafood restaurants and a fish market where you can buy freshly caught Dungeness crab in season. On weekends, a farmers' market often sets up near the harbor. The adjacent beach and breakwater offer pleasant walking paths with views of the harbor and ocean.
Don't miss
- Book a sportfishing charter for salmon, rockfish, or Dungeness crab
- Dine on fresh seafood at one of the harborside restaurants
- Stroll the marina and watch boats come and go
