The Battle of Dallas was a minor but significant skirmish that occurred on May 28, 1864, as part of the larger Atlanta Campaign. Unlike the larger battles nearby, this engagement is commemorated by a series of historical markers along Dallas–Acworth Highway. Visitors can drive or walk to the markers, which describe the troop movements and the fighting that took place in the fields and woods. The site offers a quick, educational stop for those tracing the campaign's path.

Don't miss

  • Read the historical markers that detail the troop movements and combat of the skirmish.
  • View the open fields and wooded areas where the fighting occurred, still recognizable today.
  • Combine with visits to nearby New Hope Church or Pickett's Mill for a full day of Civil War history.
