The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is the highest cog railway in the world, ascending to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak. The scenic 8.9-mile journey takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes each way, passing through forests and above treeline. At the top, visitors enjoy panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains and can explore the summit visitor center. The railway's historic operation since 1891 adds to its appeal.
