✨ HighlightPerfect 👌 night! We sat at the bar and was taken care of by Raquel and Jose. Their service was outstanding and fun. My husband and I shared a variety of dishes that were all delicious and unique. You can taste the quality and care. Bonus, we were able to watch the ladies make pasta all night and it was mesmerizing. Go to Monteverde and eat at the bar if you’re lucky.→

✨ HighlightGreat experience. Not only the food was amazing, full of surprising flavours and perfectly prepared but service with Fernando was simply perfect. Such a nice person with perfect advices on food selection and wine pairing. The music would be a bit more jazzy and subtle and the ambiance would be perfect too. My only comment would be that the truffle were too subtle in the roasted chicken, the meat portion was almost too generous, I would have preferred a bit more vegetables. My expectations were a bit too high maybe, in any case it was still a marvellous experience.→

✨ HighlightOriole exceeded our expectations, which was no easy task because our expectations were high. Our reservation was relatively late (8:30pm) and, as someone who tends to go to bed early, I was concerned about that. Turns out, I needn't have been; once the experience began, time was irrelevant. From the moment we entered the reception area until we departed, the service team at Oriole treated us like visiting royalty. Don't mistake that, though, for stuffy ambiance; service was both sophisticated and approachable. Every person we encountered was friendly, informative and engaging. This staff clearly prioritizes connection with their guests. I loved hearing stories about the winemakers featured in the beverage pairing. Oh, and the food. The food is beyond compare. If you appreciate depth of flavor, creative combinations and exquisite plating, you will be a fan of each course Oriole crafts. Truly, dining at Oriole is better classified as an experience than a meal. In my personal Facebook post, I described it as flawless and wholly phenomenal. I stand by both of those descriptors. If ever I have an opportunity to dine here again, I will not hesitate to book.→

✨ HighlightHave done several one star restaurants both in Chicago and other cities, and now having an experience at Alinea I think I can finally articulate what the difference between a one star and a three star. The food itself was well presented, paced, and was an excellent experience across all senses. We did a wine pairing and also enjoyed the selection along with the personal service from the house sommelier. Atmosphere was excellent as well, while there are a good number of seats everything is segmented into small clusters of tables. Room is dimly lit and general noise level is nice. Where things really stand out is the service, silverware promptly changed, plates collected; staff were both friendly and incredibly attentive. This is really where you get the difference between a one and a three star - food may be the same level of presentation and quality, but the staff really shine. I think my only complaint would be timing & seating. Personally I enjoy when a group of tables is timed to be seated together. This not only makes the experience feel a bit more shared, and preserves the surprise for each dish. It doesn't detract much from the overall experience and I think if they went this route it might make maintaining the level of service they have challenging. Absolutely would return again in the future.→

✨ HighlightThis was my first Michelin Star experience. The thought and detail that go into the service and dishes are impeccable. Do yourself a favor and get the non-spirit pairing instead of the wine pairing. Each drink was related to the dish and each was delicious. Menu is seasonal and I went during the winter menu so ingredients used are what is most fresh this time of year. My favorite dish was coconut chicken soup and the grilled hiramasa fish. At the end they offer a tour of the kitchen and I was able to see the chefs at work and got a quick explanation on how they make this flawless service possible. The owner and chef, Curtis Duffy, was also there! Very expensive but worth the money in my opinion!→

✨ HighlightBoeufhaus is such an underrated spot, but that’s why I love it because I know I can usually get a reservation in a pinch. I’ve been coming here for a while and it’s usually a go to for me when guests are visiting Chicago. I think it’s one of the best steakhouses in the city! The staff are excellent, and the food is even better. They often have some good specials going on weeknights, and pro tip, if you want the burger you have to sit at the bar. For starters I always recommend the fried perch, it’s one of my favorite bites in Chicago. Perfectly crispy and light. Also the short rib beignets, shrimp cocktail, and steak tartare are all excellent. For mains, they make a fantastic duck breast, the steak frites are great as well but if you’re with a group either get a Ribeye or Porterhouse for the table, trust me. They dry age their meats so you get an incredible flavor and they’re perfectly cooked every time. Truly one of my favorite places to go, tonight was my first time trying the burger, and it did not disappoint!→

✨ HighlightThis intimate neighborhood Italian restaurant is a true gem. The cozy, welcoming interior and attentive service make it a standout, with thoughtful touches like bringing out shared dishes already split for two. Their menu offers consistently good options. The beet salad is refreshing, and the braised short rib in a rich red wine sauce is deeply satisfying. ✨ HighlightLoved bringing my 12 yr old son for his birthday. Easy to find, valet parking right out front, and table was ready as soon as we arrived. Reservation strongly encouraged. We came on a Friday evening and it was at capacity. We sat outside to enjoy the view and even though the day was somewhat windy, they do have heaters out. Our waiter Patrick was amazing. He took the time to educate my son on non-alcoholic mock tails, steak cuts and made the perfect food recommendations. Our favorite was the appetizer Lobstercargot. Dessert is complementary for special occasions. My son opted for the chocolate cake. Overall it was a great night and we’ll definitely come back.→

✨ HighlightVery surprised this is 3 Michelin stars and #90 on the top 100 list. Provided I have only been to 3 other 3 star restaurants- this is the most expensive ($600) and the least enjoyable. The service is good- but not the elevated service expected. They explain the dishes but not in terms that make sense. The food was really flavorful- but there was not a lot of texture. Most of the dishes were soft. One dish the texture was kale leaves and that was a relief. There were a couple of courses that we didn’t like, but I really liked the iced white rice (I think that’s what they said it was).→

From the warm & personal hospitality, the thoughtful touches like personalized congratulatory notes on the menus, and the meticulously prepared dishes made with from local & seasonal ingredients, every detail feels special. Our recent experience was no exception. Our server, Charmian, was incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The meal was filled with delightful surprises, such as the house roll with beet butter, a flavorful duck wrap, and comforting eggnog. The main courses were equally stunning: the scallop tamale, the pork belly with coffee crumble (beautifully presented), and the sablefish all showcased incredible thought in both design and flavor. Every dish reflected a deep appreciation for the seasonality of ingredients, which added to the charm. North Pond remains one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and deserves endless praise. I arrived around 8:10, and there were already people waiting in line—even in freezing rain. This spot is definitely popular, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. When it comes to the savory food, it was good but not particularly memorable. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth the long wait—it’s solid, but nothing that blew me away. Now, the pastries? ✨ HighlightI’ve been to this place twice, and this review is based on two experiences. One was fantastic and the other one was average. So, I encourage you to try it and decide for yourself. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is top-notch! I can tell you that for sure during both of my experiences. However, the food varies. The menu looks amazing, and the varieties and offerings are well balanced with Great ingredients. However, based on the chefs feedback, the food was pretty salty and we couldn’t enjoy it at all. my favourite dishes are the Zucchini Fritters, the braised lamb Saddle (however it was undercooked. So ask for medium well), the Branzino is delicious but also pretty salty!! Beef Cheek Gnocchi was delicious!! The manager came and made it up for us, by removing all the salty items from the Bill. However, I will be hesitant next time to visit given this experience. Top restaurants like this one must have very high standards and consistent experience throughout, as margins are so slim between all those competing restaurants in West Loop.→

✨ HighlightWith an extensive selection of wines and a four-course prix fixe menu, the price was surprisingly affordable. The waitstaff were very nice and kind, but the only small issue was the waiting time between courses. After the first dish, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the next one.
