The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture celebrates the contributions of African-Americans to art, history, and culture. Named after Charlotte's first African-American mayor, the center features rotating exhibitions of contemporary visual art, photography, and mixed media. Visitors can also enjoy film screenings, lectures, and performances in its intimate theater. The building itself, with its bold geometric design, is a landmark in the city's cultural district.
