Cadillac Mountain rises 1,530 feet above sea level, offering panoramic views of Acadia National Park and the surrounding islands. From early October to early March, it is the first location in the United States to catch the sunrise. Visitors can drive to the summit or hike several trails, including the popular Cadillac North Ridge Trail. The summit is often windy and cooler than the base, so dressing in layers is recommended for a comfortable experience.
Don't miss
- Arrive before dawn to witness the first sunrise in the U.S.
- Hike the Cadillac North Ridge Trail for a rewarding summit experience
- Enjoy 360-degree views of Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay, and the Porcupine Islands
