The dining experience was eclectic with a Southern charm. We were served family portions on a tray with a variety of meats, side dishes and a dessert. The food has little seasoning but the fried chicken was very crispy and no doggie bag allowed if you order the Southern Special. The Southern Special allows for an assortment of breads, three entrees, three sides and a dessert. Many photos are framed on the walls throughout the building of Executive political officials, celebrities, and trailblazers.
I visited Mary Macs Tea Room a year ago when I was in town. It is definitely a place where the food and service are great with a homey vibe. Fast forward a year later I returned and brought a friend who had never eaten there. I'm telling you this place doesn't disappoint with the southern comfort. Wear elastic pants and be prepared for a food coma when you leave, lol.
Absolutely loved our dinner here. Traditional comfort Southern food. Fried chicken was great, likker, tomato pie, sweet potato soufflé, and sinfully delicious peach cobbler. Our waitress, Lauren, was stellar. Personable, friendly, and gave great recommendations. I highly recommend for anyone in Atlanta looking for comfort food.
We love coming here occasionally even though it’s a 2hr drive for us. Unfortunately today was a miss. I think our waiter Ondrell had a lot to do with the poor experience. Both of our orders were wrong and came before our appetizers. Final the food was cold when it came out right. Hopefully we can have a better experience next time.
