One of my favorite happy hour spaces in Atlanta. Have been there for dinner a couple of times and it’s always been great. But I particularly like their happy hour at the bar. The bartenders were super friendly. The Dogfish Head 60 Minute Rarebit was just divine. Sourdough bread with melted cheese and a mouth watering sauce. Their wine selection is great and one item not on the happy hour menu but definitely not be be missed is the Fried Goat Cheese.
The food was great. But the service wasn't quite there yet. We would've wished our waiter have warn us about the portion size of our desert, because my colleague and I each ordered a dessert (we got a total of 2 desserts), but when they came, it looks like they can feed 4-5 people.
Ordered the charcuterie, cheese and meat platter and it was as expected . I asked for the pork belly as a second course only to be told five minutes later that it was sold out 15 minutes ago. WTF-shouldn’t you know that? So I substituted the grilled shrimp. The grilled shrimp, arrived early while I was eating the cheese and meat charcuterie. I then asked for it to be re-fired when I was done with my first course . The shrimp was so salty I spit it out. Someone needs to tell the cooks to leave the salt shaker on the shelf.
We chose because it’s walkable to Fox Theatre (12 min). Service great but food mediocre. Shrimp mealy, we tasted cauliflower & left it. Dark atmosphere, moderately noisy.
