Hill Top is the 17th-century farmhouse where Beatrix Potter lived and wrote many of her famous children's books. Now owned by the National Trust, the house is preserved exactly as she left it, filled with her personal belongings, original furniture, and illustrations. Visitors can explore the cozy rooms, including the kitchen with its range and the parlour with Potter's writing desk. The cottage garden, planted with flowers and vegetables, inspired many of her book illustrations. The house offers a intimate glimpse into the life of the beloved author and conservationist.
