Winchester College is one of the oldest continuously operating schools in England, founded in 1382 by William of Wykeham. Its medieval buildings, including the original schoolroom and the magnificent chapel, offer a glimpse into centuries of educational history. Visitors can explore the ancient cloisters, the gated 'School' courtyard, and the 14th-century chapel with its stained glass. The college also houses a collection of historic artifacts, including the 'Manners' manuscript. The atmosphere is steeped in tradition, with the sound of Latin prayers still echoing in the chapel. It remains a working school, so guided tours provide access to areas not open to the public.
