Norwich Cathedral, begun in 1096, is a masterpiece of Norman architecture. Its soaring spire, rising 96 meters, dominates the skyline. Inside, visitors marvel at the vast, unbroken stone vaulted ceiling, the largest of its kind in England. The two-storey cloisters, adorned with intricate roof bosses, are the largest in the country, offering a peaceful retreat. Highlights include the medieval Despenser Reredos and the modern stained glass in the Hostry. The tranquil precincts, with the historic Dean's Garden and the river, provide a serene escape in the city center.
