Shambles Square is a charming historic square in Manchester city center, featuring cobbled streets and restored 17th-century timber-framed buildings. It's home to two of the city's oldest pubs: The Old Wellington Inn and Sinclair's Oyster Bar. The square was relocated brick-by-brick after WWII bomb damage and later redeveloped. Visitors can enjoy a pint in a centuries-old setting, admire the Tudor-style architecture, and imagine Manchester's medieval market life. It's a peaceful contrast to the modern city around it.

Don't miss

  • Have a drink at The Old Wellington Inn, dating from 1552
  • Photograph the timber-framed buildings and cobblestones
  • Visit Sinclair's Oyster Bar for a traditional pub experience
