Ludlow Buttercross is an elegant 18th-century market cross that stands at the centre of the town's medieval street plan. Built in 1746, it replaced an earlier cross and was used for the sale of butter and eggs, as well as for public announcements. Today, it remains a focal point for the town, surrounded by independent shops and cafés. The Buttercross is a Grade I listed building, featuring a domed roof and open arcade where markets once bustled.
