High Vinnalls is a prominent hill in the Mortimer Forest area, crowned by the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. The summit is reached via a steep but rewarding climb through woodland and open heath. Once at the top, visitors can trace the outline of the ancient ramparts and enjoy far-reaching views across the Teme Valley, the Clee Hills, and into Wales. The site is less crowded than nearby Titterstone Clee, offering a quieter experience. It's a great spot for a picnic with a view, especially in late afternoon light.
Don't miss
- Walk the perimeter of the Iron Age hillfort earthworks
- Enjoy panoramic views from the summit trig point
- Picnic on the grassy slopes with a vista over the Shropshire countryside
