Skiddaw, at 931 metres, is one of the Lake District's highest and most popular fells, offering a relatively straightforward ascent from Keswick. The most common route follows a wide, well-graded path from the car park at Latrigg, making it accessible to fit walkers without scrambling. The summit plateau provides breathtaking 360-degree views over Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, and the northern fells. On clear days, you can see as far as the Scottish hills and the Solway Firth.
Don't miss
- Reach the summit for panoramic views of the Lake District and beyond.
- Follow the tourist path from Latrigg car park for a steady, non-technical climb.
- Spot the distinctive profile of Skiddaw Little Man on the way up.
