Beauly Firth is a tidal estuary stretching from Inverness to the village of Beauly, offering serene waters and rich biodiversity. The firth is a haven for birdwatchers, with species like ospreys, herons, and wintering wildfowl. Seals are commonly seen basking on sandbanks, and dolphins occasionally enter from the Moray Firth. Visitors can enjoy walks along the shoreline, sailing, or simply taking in the panoramic views of the Black Isle and Ben Wyvis. The area is also dotted with historic sites, including Beauly Priory.

Don't miss

  • Spot seals hauled out on the mudflats at low tide, especially near the Beauly side.
  • Watch for ospreys fishing in the firth during spring and summer months.
  • Walk the Beauly Firth Trail, a 7-mile path from Inverness to Beauly with viewpoints.
