Provand's Lordship

Provand's Lordship is a rare surviving medieval townhouse in Glasgow, built in 1471 as part of a hospital. It is the oldest house in the city and stands opposite the cathedral. The museum recreates the domestic life of the 16th and 17th centuries, with period furniture, a reconstructed kitchen, and displays on the building's history. Visitors can see the 'St Nicholas' Garden' behind the house, planted with herbs and flowers typical of the period. The upper floor contains a small collection of Scottish paintings.
