Inverlochy Castle is a well-preserved 13th-century fortress located on the outskirts of Fort William, near the shores of Loch Linnhe. Built by the Comyn family, it played a key role in the Wars of Scottish Independence and later witnessed the 1645 Battle of Inverlochy. The castle's massive curtain walls, round towers, and imposing gatehouse remain largely intact, offering a glimpse into medieval military architecture. Visitors can wander freely among the ruins, imagining the turbulent past, while enjoying views of the loch and surrounding hills.
