Howletts Wild Animal Park is a 90-acre conservation sanctuary near Canterbury, founded by the late John Aspinall. It's renowned for its successful breeding programmes, especially for western lowland gorillas, home to one of the largest troops in the world. Visitors can observe gorillas, African elephants, tigers, and lemurs in large, naturalistic habitats. The park also offers a treetop challenge course and a playground, making it a full-day adventure for families. Its focus on animal welfare and conservation sets it apart from typical zoos.

Don't miss

  • Watch the gorilla troop interact in their expansive woodland enclosure, one of the largest gorilla groups in the UK.
  • Walk through the lemur walkthrough and have ring-tailed lemurs scamper past your feet.
  • Test your balance on the high ropes Go Ape course, set among the park's ancient trees.
