The Llŷn Coastal Path is a 146-kilometer (91-mile) walking trail that hugs the coastline of the Llŷn Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The path passes through rugged cliffs, sandy coves, and heathland, with frequent views of Cardigan Bay and the Irish Sea. Walkers can explore historic sites like Bardsey Island, pilgrimage routes, and charming villages such as Abersoch and Nefyn. The trail is well-marked and offers sections suitable for day hikes. It's less crowded than the nearby Snowdonia trails, providing a peaceful escape into nature.

Don't miss

  • Hike the section from Porthdinllaen to Nefyn for dramatic cliffs and a sandy beach
  • Visit the pilgrimage site of Bardsey Island (requires a boat trip)
  • Spot seabirds and wildflowers along the heathland sections in spring
