Bath Abbey is a stunning example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture, built on the site of a 7th-century monastery. Its most striking feature is the fan-vaulted ceiling, added in the 19th century, and the large east window depicting scenes from the life of Christ. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of Bath, explore the Heritage Vaults museum, and see the many memorials on the walls. The abbey remains an active place of worship, with a rich musical tradition.
