Ward Park, a 37-acre public park established in the 1920s, is a green oasis in the heart of Bangor. Its centerpiece is a large ornamental lake with a fountain, home to swans, ducks, and geese, which visitors can feed from designated areas. The park features beautifully maintained formal flower beds, a rose garden, and a rockery, alongside sports facilities including tennis courts, a bowling green, and a putting green. Tree-lined avenues and winding paths invite leisurely strolls, while a children's playground and a café make it family-friendly. The park also hosts seasonal events like outdoor concerts and the Bangor Christmas lights switch-on.

Don't miss

  • Feed the swans and ducks at the ornamental lake, a favorite activity for children.
  • Stroll through the rose garden in summer when the blooms are at their peak.
  • Play a game of tennis on the well-maintained hard courts (equipment rental available nearby).
