Loch Morlich is a large, shallow loch set within Glenmore Forest Park, renowned for its unexpected sandy beach backed by the Cairngorm Mountains. The loch's clear, shallow waters make it a popular spot for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, with equipment rentals available nearby. The surrounding forest offers numerous walking and cycling trails, including a flat path that circles much of the loch. Families often picnic on the beach or use the adjacent play area. On calm days, the mountains reflect perfectly in the water, creating a postcard-perfect scene. The loch is also a haven for birdlife, including greylag geese and goldeneyes.
