Mount Werner is the centerpiece of Steamboat Ski Resort, rising to 10,568 feet and offering sweeping views of the Yampa Valley and the Park Range. In winter, its slopes are famous for light, dry Champagne Powder snow, attracting skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The summit is accessible via the gondola or chairlifts, and at the top, visitors find a scenic lookout, a cozy mountain restaurant, and the start of numerous trails. In summer, the mountain transforms into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with wildflower meadows and panoramic vistas.

Don't miss

  • Ride the Steamboat Gondola to the summit for a 360-degree view of the Continental Divide.
  • Ski or snowboard the legendary runs like 'Storm Peak' and 'Sundown' for deep powder.
  • Hike the Werner Trail in summer to see alpine wildflowers and maybe spot a moose.
