Howelsen Hill Ski Area holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operated ski area in Colorado, dating back to 1915. Located just minutes from downtown Steamboat Springs, it features 15 trails and a vertical drop of 440 feet, making it ideal for beginners and families. The hill is also home to the Howelsen Hill Rodeo Grounds, which host summer rodeo events. Visitors can enjoy night skiing on select runs, and the area has produced numerous Olympic skiers. Its compact size and historic charm provide a nostalgic, community-focused alternative to larger resorts.
Don't miss
