The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida holds the largest collection of Salvador Dalí's work outside Europe, a comprehensive sweep across the surrealist master's career, including several of his monumental 'masterwork' canvases. The building itself is a draw: a concrete fortress wrapped in a free-form geodesic glass bubble called 'the Enigma,' with a spiral staircase inside that nods to Dalí's obsession with the helix.
The collection traces his evolution from early Impressionist-influenced works through the iconic melting-clock surrealism to his later large-scale, scientifically-inspired paintings. There's a melting-clock-themed garden, an avant-garde café, and regular augmented-reality and immersive experiences. It's an essential stop on Florida's Gulf coast for any art lover.
