Built in 1876 from local red sandstone, the Old Washington County Courthouse stands as a landmark of pioneer architecture in St. George. Today, this two-story structure serves dual purposes: the lower level is home to the interactive St. George Children's Museum, where kids can engage in hands-on exhibits about science and local history, while the upper floor features the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum, displaying artifacts from early Mormon settlers. Visitors can admire the original courtroom, judge's bench, and pioneer-era furnishings that bring 19th-century justice to life.
